Flower or meadow honey is produced from the nectar of numerous meadow and field plants. During the season, bees visit a variety of blossoms – clover, dandelion, cornflower, daisies, meadow grasses, fruit trees and many other plants growing around the apiary. This diversity of flowers gives this honey its special, rich and changeable character.
Each jar of flower honey is a small “snapshot” of nature around the apiary at a given time. Its colour, aroma and flavour can differ from year to year, depending on which plants produced the most nectar that season. Because of its versatility, flower (meadow) honey is often the first choice for everyday use in the household.
Flower (meadow) honey is the perfect “universal” honey for every household. It can be used as a spread on bread, to sweeten drinks, in desserts, or simply – eaten by the spoonful. As with all honeys, it is not recommended for children under one year of age.
